Dr. Shouhed is a board-certified surgeon born and raised in Los Angeles who has trained at some of the most prestigious institutions in the country. He graduated summa cum laude from UCLA, earned his medical degree from UCSD School of Medicine on a full merit scholarship, and completed his general surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai, ranked the #2 GI surgery program in the United States, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, the first program of its kind in the country, with a focus on minimally invasive bariatric, foregut, and complex general surgery.
Dr. Shouhed is the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery and Metabolic Weight Loss Center at Providence Saint John's Hospital, a member of the Minimally Invasive GI Surgery division at Cedars-Sinai, and the highest-volume robotic surgeon at that institution.
